Day 1: Rabat – Maknes – Volubilis – Fes

Begin your journey from Fes as we pick you up from your Riad and head towards the desert, passing through the scenic slopes of the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop is Ifrane, known as ‘Little Switzerland,’ a charming town with alpine-style architecture, popular with skiers. Next, we pass through the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas, where you can spot and interact with Barbary Macaques, the only primate species north of the Sahara.

We continue through mountain villages, arriving in Midelt for lunch. Nestled between the Middle and High Atlas Mountains, Midelt is a pastoral town surrounded by orchards. After lunch, we journey through the Ziz Valley, one of the largest oases in Africa, known for its extensive date production. Passing through Erfoud, famous for its fossils and known as ‘The Gate to the Sahara,’ we make our way to the Erg Chebbi dunes.

You’ll spend the night at a luxurious desert camp, complete with comfortable beds, a home-cooked Berber dinner, and a stunning night sky filled with stars, before embarking on your desert adventure the following day.

Day 3: Explore Merzouga desert

Discover the Sahara Desert in a 4×4 vehicle. Visit nomad families for tea and bread. Explore Khamlia village, known for Gnawa music. Stop at Rissani Market, a historic trading hub. Enjoy a traditional lunch before a camel trek across Erg Chebbi dunes. Watch the sunset and spend the evening at a desert camp. Relish a Berber dinner and campfire under the stars.

Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Boumalen Dades

Our 5 days tour to Merzouga from Rabat start the day by witnessing the spectacular sunrise over the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, a perfect photo opportunity. After breakfast at the desert camp, try your hand at sandboarding before we ride camels back to the town. From here, we begin our journey to Dades Valley, passing through scenic palm groves. Along the way, we’ll visit Kheterra, an ancient underground irrigation system that once supplied water to local farmers. Though dry today, you can still explore the tunnels.

We’ll stop for lunch at a restaurant in a Berber village, enjoying traditional cuisine. Afterward, we continue to the Todra Gorge, a highlight of the trip. This stunning canyon, carved through the High Atlas Mountains, offers a chance to walk along its floor, surrounded by towering cliffs that rise dramatically on either side.

Finally, we arrive at the beautiful Dades Valley, known for its panoramic views of a fertile landscape framed by rugged mountains. You’ll end the day here, soaking in the natural beauty of this tranquil spot.

Day 5: Boumalne Dades – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

After breakfast, head to Skoura. Visit Ouarzazate and Atlas Studio. Explore Taouirt Kasbah and Ait Ben Haddou, a famous film location. Continue to Marrakech via Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m). Arrive in Marrakech and transfer to your accommodation. End of your private Morocco tour.
