You will travel through the breathtaking Rif Mountains to the azure city of Chefchaouen. When you get to Chefchaouen, you might want to take your time exploring the Medina as it’s small and easy to find your way around without the assistance of a local guide.
All you have to do is become lost in the exquisitely painted doors, windows, and streets. With its row of eateries and cafes, Utta El-Hammam Square would be a good place to start. Explore the nearby Kasbah, which is from the fifteenth century. Go northeast to the Ras el-Ma Spring, a gathering place for the locals where they wash carpets and clothing. These sights are breathtaking.
Following breakfast at your Chefchaouen hotel or riad, you will travel to Fes via the magnificent Rif Mountains. You will enjoy a guided tour of Fes’s cultural center with a native tour guide once you arrive. Start your journey at the Royal Palace’s golden gates and take a moment to relax in the Mellah, the former Jewish Quarter.
Take a guided walking tour of Fes el-Bali, which is a 7th-century World Heritage Site recognized by UNESCO. It’s also the world’s largest car-free region, providing a chance to travel back in time to the Middle Ages. Explore its maze-like passageways and discover more about the distinctive way of life. See the museums and go by the Koranic schools, which include the world’s oldest official university, Qarawiyyin University.
You must visit the renowned Chouara Tanneries to discover how the greatest leather in the world is manufactured using age-old techniques. We will transport you to your Fes lodging in the late afternoon.
You will go via the quaint and tidy city of Ifrane today on your way south to the Sahara Desert of Erg Chebbi, where you can take a break and rest. Take a quick break in the Barbary Macaque colony located within the UNESCO-protected cedar forest. Following lunch in Midelt, you will travel across the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains and stop for photos at the expansive Ziz valley, which is home to an endless number of palm trees.
Pass through Erfoud to reach the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. You will now embark on a once-in-a-lifetime experience of riding a camel through the sand dunes and taking in the stunning sunset scenery. Before going back to the camp in the desert for a delicious meal, you could wish to attempt sandboarding.
Arrive early in the morning to witness the breathtaking sunrise above the sand dunes. Then, head back to the camp for breakfast before preparing to continue our journey. Incorporate a trip to the Erfoud dates market, where you can discover the various types of dates grown there.
Stretch your legs at the breathtaking Todra Gorge, which offers breathtaking views, refreshing air, and a river that never stops running. Proceed westward on the trail to the Dades Valley, your overnight destination.
